Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year

Welcome 2010! Even though 2009 had it's challenges, it was a year to remember. I can't believe how quickly it has come and gone. And I can't believe how wonderful being a Mom is to this little guy.

Before I jump ahead of myself, here are some of the pictures from Christmas.

We spent Christmas Eve day at my sister, Amy and her family's house. As always, she did a wonderful job hosting everyone. We had a delicious spread of food, great company and we enjoyed watching Bennett and Sydney open gifts and play together. Bennett and Sydney are best buds. We are thrilled that they enjoy each other so much. Sydney is quick to remind you that Bennett is HER cousin. When we tell her that Bennett is OUR son, she disputes the fact that he is HER cousin first.

Christmas morning we spent at our house. Enjoying a french toast breakfast and opening gifts from Santa. Here is a picture of Bennett admiring all the gifts that Santa left the night before.

Bennett tearing into one of his gifts. Everyone told us Bennett wouldn't open his own gifts, but he did surprisingly well. He also enjoyed the tissue, paper and boxes more than his toys.

He looks pretty pleased with all the goodies Santa left. Later Christmas Day, we made our way up to Grandma and Grandpa Peelle's house. They hosted a get together with the entire Peelle side. It was great to see all the Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. The holiday rush was beginning to take a toll on Bennett. He just wasn't himself so we didn't stay too long and made our way home. He was fast asleep before we pulled out of the drive way.
Although Christmas has come and gone, all the preparation that led up to this exciting first Christmas was well worth it. Graham and I love experiencing the holidays with Bennett. It seems so much better.
Happy New Year!

New Year's Eve morning we sliced up some oranges for breakfast and Bennett went nuts. So we decided to give him a slice to see what he'd do. He absolutely loved them. Although, when we cut the pieces up really small and removed the rind he threw the bite sized pieces on the floor in protest. Independent and stubborn, not sure where he gets that from.

Such goof-balls

A big smile on New Year's Day.

Since Bennett has been on the move... Crawling, cruising, standing and pulling up on everything, baby-proofing the house has been a priority.
There were no New Year's resolutions made at the Peelle household this year, just a vow to slow down, take one day at a time and to enjoy this special time with Bennett.
Hope everyone has a great start to the new year.
